Several core values guide Utah Overpass Action's activity:
Non-Violence - In line with the teaching of social justice leaders like Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we utilize non-violent protest methods only.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - We believe that diversity is strength, that equity is critical to achieving social justice, and that inclusivity makes America great. We are committed to fighting discrimination, and advocating for Utah communities that have been historically marginalized, including immigrants, refugees, people of color, persons with disabilities, and members of the Native, LGBTQ+, and low-income communities.
Patriotism - We deeply love our country, and believe peaceful protest against injustice is fundamentally American and patriotic. By protesting against the abuses of the Trump administration and GOP, we aim to help our country and its government become more effective, just, equitable, and inclusive for ALL Americans.
Inclusive Leadership - We practice inclusive and democratic methods to determine the organization's operations, messaging, and direction.
