PROTEST RULES
UTAH OVERPASS ACTION
Per the Utah State Code and Salt Lake County Code of Ordinances, volunteers attending Utah Overpass Action protests MUST follow each of the rules below.
These rules protect ourselves, motorists, and state and county property, and ensure that our protests remain legal and compliant. Failure to follow these rules will disqualify a volunteer from attending future UOA protests.
Do not walk in roadways or block them; always use crosswalks.
Do not block the sidewalk. Make ample room for pedestrians.
Do not hang any signs/banners over the edge of the overpass.
Do not drop or throw anything over the edge of the overpass.
Do not permanently attach anything to overpass fencing.
Do not damage overpass infrastructure (e.g. fences, sidewalks).
Do not make any offensive gestures to motorists or pedestrians.
Do not litter. Let’s leave the overpass cleaner than we found it!
Do not hand anything to or accept anything from passing motorists.
